India has a significant population of street dogs, which can sometimes lead to various issues.
Take, for instance, the story of two cute puppies who got separated from their mother and ended up in a deep pit.
The pit was so deep that their mother couldn’t assist them in getting out.
However, that wasn’t their only dilemma; they also had company in the pit.
There just happened to be a “large and deadly king-cobra” down there with them.
Like a movie
Sometimes events occur that you might only expect to see in films.
I believe these rescue workers from India found themselves in such a situation on this particular day.
With just one bite, these puppies’ lives could have been lost — “the king cobra is so poisonous that it can even kill an elephant.”
To complicate things further, the pit where these unfortunate puppies fell was extremely muddy, which posed a constant risk of them getting stuck.
Fortunately, “puppies aren’t really among the things cobras like to eat,” but there was still significant concern for their safety.
Friendly Cobra
The snake, however, did not appear to have any intention of harming the puppies—in fact, quite the opposite.
The cobra was actually keeping a watchful eye on them, ensuring that the little dogs did not wander over to the more dangerous side of the well.
For 48 hours, the puppies remained in the same area of the well alongside the cobra.
When the authorities finally arrived to rescue the puppies, it turned out to be easier than they had anticipated. The cobra “politely moved” so that the rescue team could pick up the puppies without any issues.
Sometimes animals really have a special ability to help and protect each other — no matter their species or size, something we humans should learn from.
