Prince Harry Speaks Out on Divorce Rumors with Meghan Markle amid Claims Their Professional Relationship Is in a ‘Very Bad State’

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have once again captured public attention after making separate appearances at various events, sparking renewed conversations about their relationship dynamics. Although the couple was expected to attend a high-profile event together, Meghan Markle ultimately appeared solo, reigniting speculation.

Prince Harry recently addressed rumors of a potential divorce, which arose amid criticism surrounding the couple’s professional partnership. A source described the speculation as being in “very bad taste.” In an effort to clarify the situation, a close friend provided insight into their relationship.

Royal biographer Angela Levin weighed in on the matter, speculating about possible challenges in their professional relationship. She pointed to ongoing issues, such as Prince Harry’s unresolved U.S. visa matters and reports suggesting their interest in purchasing property in Portugal.

“They say they’re going to work separately, then they say they’re buying a house in Portugal—you don’t do that if you don’t want to separate for most of the time, so I wonder if it’s in a very bad state. But I’m sure they’re trying to work out something,” Levin remarked, highlighting ongoing debates about the couple’s evolving dynamic.

This evolving approach was previously described by a friend as a “twin-track” strategy, where Prince Harry focuses on philanthropic work while Meghan leans into entrepreneurial and commercial pursuits. The friend elaborated, “An entrepreneurial and enterprise focus is going to be more the Duchess’s priority, and the Duke will continue to champion his not-for-profit patronages.” Despite their individual endeavors, they remain committed to collaborating on shared, cause-driven projects.

Recently, Meghan and The Archewell Foundation organized a Thanksgiving dinner for the Southern California Welcome Project, which supports Afghan women resettled in the U.S. through storytelling and creating safe spaces. The event, held at Our Place, featured a shared meal, meaningful conversations, and gifts of cookware. The Duchess expressed gratitude for the women’s resilience and looked forward to deepening these connections in future gatherings.

This balanced professional and personal approach has fueled public curiosity about the state of their relationship. During The New York Times’ 2024 DealBook Summit, Prince Harry humorously addressed the swirling rumors, noting that Meghan was recently seen without her engagement ring.

“Apparently, we’ve bought or moved house 10, 12 times. We’ve apparently divorced maybe 10, 12 times as well. So it’s just like, ‘What?'” he joked. Prince Harry acknowledged the challenges of persistent speculation but shared his strategy for handling it: tuning out. “Once you stop reading the stuff about yourself, you automatically remove the power from their hands,” he explained.

While Prince Harry participated in the summit, Meghan attended the 2024 Paley Honors Fall Gala in Beverly Hills, celebrating their friend Tyler Perry, who received the Paley Center for Media’s highest honor. Though Harry was named a tribute chair alongside Meghan, he did not attend, marking another instance of their individual public appearances.

At the gala, Meghan radiated positivity as she posed for photos with Perry, who was recognized for his groundbreaking contributions to media and philanthropy. The event marked Meghan and Perry’s first red carpet appearance together. Previously, Harry and Meghan attended Perry’s 55th birthday celebration in September 2024.

Perry and Meghan’s friendship dates back to 2018, when Perry offered her support ahead of her royal wedding. In early 2020, their bond became public when Perry expressed solidarity with Meghan after her candid comments in an ITV documentary about rarely being asked how she was truly doing.

Later that year, Perry played a crucial role in helping the couple transition to life in the U.S., providing his private jet and offering his $18 million Santa Barbara home as a haven. “They hid out at my house for a long time. It was so great,” Perry shared, describing their time as a beautiful moment of trust and privacy.

As godfather to their daughter, Princess Lilibet, Perry remains an integral part of their lives. He also appeared in their Netflix documentary, sharing insights into their journey during and after their time as working royals. Perry has consistently expressed admiration for their bond. On the “Today” show, he praised the couple’s deep love, saying, “If I couldn’t have what they have, I wouldn’t want it at all.”

Despite intense public scrutiny, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s enduring connection remains evident. Perry’s unwavering support underscores the importance of trusted allies as the couple navigates their personal and professional lives.
