Despite having a difficult year, PRINCESS Kate is focused on 2025 and her upcoming position as Queen.
According to a royal author, the 42-year-old Princess of Wales, who sang “Together” at a Christmas carol event to end the year, is getting ready for her royal position “sooner than expected.”
King Charles is currently receiving treatment for an undisclosed type of cancer.
In March, the Princess of Wales revealed that she was undergoing chemotherapy, and by September, she shared that she had completed her treatment and was now “cancer-free.”
Royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith told People: “Although the King is carrying out his duties with typical determination, he has had to accept limitations during his cancer treatment.”
“As a result William has been taking on more responsibilities, and he and Kate have been preparing for their future roles sooner than they would have expected.”
An insider commented: “There’s a sense of calm before the storm. They are next in line for the biggest job of their lives, and of course, Kate’s health has taken priority, but it’s also allowed everyone to take a step back and figure out what’s important right now.”
On December 6, Kate hosted her first major event since completing her treatment – the annual carol concert, joined by Prince William, 42, Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis.
Jenny Powell, a community worker from Abergavenny, Wales, who attended the event, remarked: “I know how hard it would be to do something like this, putting yourself out there when you may not be feeling 100 per cent.”
During the concert, Kate appeared calm as she walked down the aisle with her family in front of 1,600 guests.
Paloma Faith, who performed at the concert, asked Kate how she was doing. Kate responded: “I didn’t know this year was going to be the year that I’ve just had.”
Since the Queen’s passing in September 2022, Kate and William have stepped into their roles as the Prince and Princess of Wales, preparing for their eventual ascension as King and Queen.
Prince William’s attendance at the presentation of Notre Dame’s £1 billion restoration, where he interacted with world leaders, including US President-elect Donald Trump, is a prime illustration of this.
Before the service, Donald greeted William with a kind greeting and gave him a shoulder pat.
Later, they met at the home of the UK ambassador.
There was a rare moment of humor in the viral video of their conversation, in which Trump patted William on the shoulder and described him as a “good man” performing a “fantastic job.” The president-elect also praised the Prince for looking very “handsome.”
Royal commentator Lee Cohen expressed that the comment—”perhaps referencing William’s much-discussed new beard?”—was made in a playful manner, but also alluded to the subtle “relaunch” of the Prince of Wales.
He noted that William’s refreshed appearance, along with his growing diplomatic confidence, signals a preparedness to take on a more prominent role globally.
Regarding the Princess of Wales, he mentioned: “Kate, in particular, will be a vital force in this new chapter of the monarchy, having garnered widespread admiration balancing her health after a battle with cancer with a return to public duties.”
He continued, “The Princess of Wales’ resilience and grace alone have already enhanced the monarchy’s appeal, both at home and abroad.”
As a pair, he highlighted that the couple “symbolise a modernised vision of royalty – relatable, impactful, and firmly rooted in service.”
